Breadtabs’08

a metal cookie cutter sitting on a wooden table

In 2008, I had a solo show of paintings and pop sculptures, titled “Breadtabs08” as a play on bread tabs await when spoken. A continuation and exploration of thoughts stemming from the previous works. Using the shape of the tab as a metaphor for mass production, mortality, danger, consumerism. The process of creating each work varies as some are printed, painted and sculptural works include food, mylar, transformed object.

The paintings look at the tabs in a closer aspect.

Some frozen in fall. Some using repurposed materials, others the shape. Given a pop art aesthetic and experimental edge.

The opportunity to have a show at Williams On Wonderland coffee house arose and I liked the idea of doing some bright thought provoking and fun work.
